美國民間聲援巴爾的摩非裔民眾抗議警方執法過當的「接力」行動，4月29日由東岸向中、西部蔓延，上萬人分別在首都華盛頓特區、紐約、麻薩諸塞州波士頓、科羅拉多州丹佛、華盛頓州西雅圖等大城遊行示威，要求警察執法時公平對待所有族裔。

在抗議行動「震央」巴爾的摩，近千名群眾29日下午由火車站遊行至市政府，示威規模之大，為葛雷下葬以來僅見，參與者泰半是高中生與大學生，也不乏白人，但過程平和。民眾高呼「沒有正義就沒有和平！種族歧視不去，就沒有和平！」也有人高舉書寫「殺人警察應該坐牢」的標語牌。入夜後，人潮陸續散去，示威在宵禁開始前和平落幕。

據《巴爾的摩太陽報》報導，市警局為息事寧人，因27日暴動被捕的200餘名非裔嫌犯，有半數已經獲釋。馬里蘭州長侯根則表示，巴爾的摩治安逐漸恢復正常，他「深受鼓舞」，但軍警仍將加強巡邏，執行晚間10時至翌日清晨5時的宵禁。

在美國第一大城紐約，逾千名抗議者29日晚聚集曼哈頓下城的聯合廣場，眾人情緒激昂，並與警方爆發推擠，有60餘人被捕。
